Koh Phangan is a paradise island located in the Gulf of Thailand about 100 km from Suratthani and 15 km just only a half-hour by boat from Koh Samui. Koh Phangan is the largest of Samui's neighboring islands with an area of 168 square km. Over 70% of its total area is mountains and tropical forest. The lowlands are beaches and coconut fields. The Full Moon Party has brought the island global notoriety and it’s a fantastic place to party, but Koh Phangan has many other sides to amaze its visitors.

The island’s culture tradition goes back over 600 years when the first monks settled here, building temples that remain today. The jungle interior is still untouched in many areas and there’s a magnificent variety of wildlife to see, including the giant monitor lizards in Than Sadet National Park or in Angthong National Marine Park. There are turtles, schools of tropical fish and a vibrant living reef teeming with the mesmerizing coral. Koh Phangan also has an abundance of waterfalls to visit, scattered around the island.

The region is fairly mountainous and away from the coast. There is a number of mountain trails and walks to follow, and with the large concentration of beaches in the East, it is possible to beach hop up and down the coastline.

Haad Rin Nok is a popular spot and well known for the vibrant nightlife dotted with bars and clubs open most nights till late. Once a month the entire stretch of beach is lit up with fireworks as people come to enjoy the spectacular Full Moon Party. Outside of Haad Rin there are also the popular well-organized Black Moon and Half Moon events, both in nearby Ban Tai. On the beach, Black Moon regularly attracts up to 1,500 partygoers, while for a different experience altogether, the Half Moon venue is set in the jungle, superbly decorated with neon-art, sculptures and light projectors.

Koh Phangan is in the Suratthani province which in the southern of Thailand. It's easy go to the island that be arranged by any travel agency. Koh Phangan is accessible by boat from Suratthani and Chumporn on the mainland, and from its neighbouring islands of Koh Samui and Koh Tao. There are many daily flights between Samui and Bangkok.
